The CSULB CBA Alumni & Friends Network is pleased to announce a very special mixer and guest speaker for our Homecoming week event: Michael Turner, VP United Parcel Services

Mike Turner serves as the Vice President, West Region Sales for UPS Worldwide Services which serves over 450,000 customers daily and has annual revenues over $8 billion.  

Mike will be sharing about his experiences at UPS specifically around Change Management and the Ten Principles of Change. 

• Tools and Techniques that help companies and people transform quickly and fluidly.
• What is discretionary effort is and how discretionary effort affects change management
• Why managing change is necessary in today's professional environment as we continue to do more with less
• Do you have a mindset for change and how to get one.

• Parking: Free parking is available in Lot 4 and Lot 5 to all alumni attending the event. (Update: No reservations are required)

Bio of Michael Turner

Mike Turner beginning his career with UPS in 1983 as a part-time Unloader in the Toledo Hub in the Northwest Ohio District.  Twenty-Nine years later,  Mike is the current Vice President of Sales (now the West Region), based in Laguna Hills, CA.  The West Region - which is comprised of the 17 western states, including California, Texas, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Alaska and Hawaii - serves over 450,000 customers daily and has annual revenues over $8 billion.  Mike is responsible for all sales execution and business plan performance efforts across the West Region.  

In 2007, Mike was recognized as a member of “Who’s Who in Black Atlanta” and remains involved in the community through National Urban League.  Mike is also a Board Member within BDA- Business for Diplomatic Action, which is a non-profit organization designed to promote global business advocacy.  He is active in church and also enjoys reading, exercising, knowledge acquisition, with a strong and biased interest in global infrastructure, economic and geo-political issues.

Mike holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Toledo.  He and Janet, his wife, and their two boys Benjamin, age 19, and Christopher, age 15, reside in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA.
